19 12 2005 - MKS changed its name and started to function as UAB First Data Lietuva.
2005 - First Data Corp. (NYSE: FDC), a global leader in electronic commerce and payment services, has completed the acquisition of EuroProcessing International, a major card processor in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). EuroProcessing International owns MKS.
2004 - the company opened the card personalization centre. International companies VISA International (VISA) and MasterCard International certificated premises of the centre, a security system and a process of cards personalization.
2003 - long-term service agreements of were signed with Hansabankas and Nord/LB Lietuva.
2003 - The company purchased POS terminals of Vilnius bankas, Hansabankas and Nord/LB Lietuva. Currently, MKS services the network of POS terminals consisting of 7582 devices, which make up about 70 per cent of the entire POS terminals network all throughout Lithuania.
2003 - Norwegian company EuroProcessing International (EPI), which had owned 25 % packet of MKS shares, bought 41% packet of shares from Hansabankas and 34 % packet of shares from Nord/LB Lietuva. EPI became only owner of MKS.
2003 - MKS adapted EMV (Europay MasterCard VISA) standards in its activity of issuing VSDC (VISA Smart Debit Credit) payment cards and processing payment cards’ operations.
2003 – company successfully moved to the new premises. Information system and acquiring POS terminal network provides online services twenty-four hours 7 days per week year all the year round. Average transaction quantity is about 1’643’000 per month. The biggest customers are – AB bankas Hansabankas, AB bankas Nord/LB Lietuva, AB Ūkio bankas, AB Nordea Bank Lietuva, AB Šiaulių bankas, AB Vilniaus bankas, UAB Sampo bankas, UAB “Bitė GSM”. Current quantity of POS terminals is 7108, quantity of ATMs - 142. 80 employees work for the company at the moment.
2002 – Quality management system (ISO 9001:2000 (LST EN 9001:2001)) implemented in MKS and certified by Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI).
2002 – first certification for VSDC chip product acquiring on POS terminals in Lithuania completed at Visa International.
2002 – independent audit of information system and authorisation network performed. Hewlett Packard Consulting company stated systems security and reliability, performance without overloads, momentary reaction to authorisation requests without queues.
2002 – company became domestic clearing centre for the main Lithuanian banks - AB bankas "Hansabankas", AB bankas Nord/LB Lietuva, AB Vilniaus bankas, AB Ūkio bankas, AB Šiaulių bankas, AB Nordea Bank Lietuva, UAB Sampo bankas. Volume of transactions exceeded 18’000’000 per year.
2002 – new services commenced - Direct Debit and Prepaid (sales of prepaid services).
2001 - technical maintenance divisions founded in Alytus. 83 employees worked by the end of the year.
2000 – first international loyalty project implemented with international company SHELL. Banking cards payment project implemented on NESTE and STATOIL automatic petrol stations by the end of the year.
2000 - volume of transactions grew up to 1’000’000 per month. Powerful hardware platform with HP9000 N server cluster (with high-speed RISC processors) was installed. TRANSMASTER system was switched to the new ORACLE 8 version. These solutions resulted in high transaction processing systems productivity, reliability and capacity.
2000 - call centre for cardholders and merchants established through the free line 800. Implementation of this service and ISDN protocol ensured quality of the authorisation, card balance information and card blocking services, provided through the telephone.
1999 - technical maintenance divisions founded in Šiauliai, Panevėžys, Kaunas. 48 employees worked by the end of the year.
1999 – certification as Service Provider for Visa products acquiring completed at Visa International.
1999 – card processing hardware and software upgraded in the main – server platform upgraded to HP9000 N server of Hewlett Packard and transaction processing system upgraded to TRANSMASTER of Tieto Konts – currently TietoEnator Financial Solutions SIA.
1998 – Technical maintenance division founded in Klaipėda.
1998 – certification for Maestro product completed at Europay International. Main customers are LTB and LŽŪB banks.
1997 – Lithuanian Savings Bank (LTB) became the main customer after the junction of card processing centres. Ten ATMs acquired and maintained by MKS by September 1997.
1995 – first ten POS terminals installed by the end of the year.
1995 – certification completed for Globus and EuroCard/MasterCard (EC/MC) products issuing and acquiring.
1995 May – UAB ‘Mokėjimo kortelių sistemos’ (MKS) was founded. Thirteen employees worked at that time in the company.
